Geo-Environmental Engineer /Consultant

Our client a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy now has an exciting opportunity for a geo-environmental engineer to join this growing division. As an organisation their Geotechnical and Environmental Engineers add value across a strong client portfolio comprising of high-profile commercial, industrial and major project schemes. With a reputation for high quality design and project delivery this is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to develop and enhance their career. The role is based from their Manchester office, but collaboration is expected across the network of UK offices.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the day to day project management of Ground Investigations and Geo-Environmental Site Investigations and prepare factual reports. You must have relevant experience, which should include:
- Capable of supervising various forms of site investigation, predominantly managing trial pitting, cable rigs and rotary open holing.
- Production of engineering records in accordance with British and Euro standards.
- Soils sampling (geotechnical and contaminated land) and installation of monitoring wells.
- Preparation of factual site investigation reports; experience of interpretive reporting would be a distinct advantage.
Ideally you will have an excellent academic background, preferable degree qualifications in the following disciplines; BSc Geology, Geoscience or Geochemistry, ideally with MSc Environmental Engineering, Contaminated Land or Engineering Geology, or similar. You should possess a proven track record of ideally 3yrs + working on complex ground investigations and contaminated sites for an environmental consultancy, excellent planning / project management skills and the ability to solve problems. As the role will involve site work it is imperative that any potential applicants have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
